Dasara festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India. The word ‘Dasara’ derives from the Sanskrit Dasha-hara meaning “remover of bad fate”.

Dasara marks the beginning of the pleasant winter season after the searing heat of summer. Dussehra is celebrated with pomp and pageantry reminiscent of medieval times.
Dasara is celebrated allover India as a religious as well as a social festival which is an occasion for poojas and festivities like music, dance and cultural programmes.
Vijayadashami is also considered as a day of Goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge and learning. On that day, students start their school education, art lessons or career planning seeks their elder’s blessings.
The highlight of Dasara is Ram Lila.On the occasion of Dussehra, large sized statues of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad are built and these statues are filled with crackers and burn them in the grounds to celebrate Dussehra.
